Stray Animals: A Social Responsibility

The extent of loss and scourge that Covid 19 incurred on the masses was indefinitely insurmountable. Vestiges of those fears are still instilled in our hearts. This havoc, as pompously visible among humans, was not limited to them. The pandemic left substantial damage in the lives of many voiceless creatures, the plight of whose somewhere remained on the outskirts of the mainstream limelight. When it did gain light, we realized the stray animals deprived state and the acute scarcity of food and shelter.

Although the pandemic showed us the downside of stray animal negligence, the exploitation and cruelty they provoked are not the story of today but many yesterdays.  As creatures with the power to stand up and raise our voices for what matters, it remains our responsibility to bring the dire concern of these plights to attention. There are simple ways through which you can help the stray animals.

Adopt

The grandest and best way to help these young bubs is to make them your own. Adopt them and make a home for them in your heavenly abode. An own space of theirs filled with love, care, and affection. You can adopt any street cat or dog or go to a shelter to do the same. These pretty babies can become your best friends with a mere flick of affection.

Feed or Treat

We can understand that it’s not feasible for everyone to adopt. Feeding these pooches and giving them water is just as much of a noble cause. Stray animals are often undernourished and even dehydrated. So feeding them with nourished edibles can help them sustain themselves.  But make multiple bundles of food and scatter it, so the dogs don’t get into a fight.

Donating or Sponsoring

Many organizations look after stray animals, provide them with food and shelter, or even care for their medical well-being. But these organizations often run low on a budget because they lack funding and can’t perform independently. They could always use a sponsor to assist in caring for these sweethearts.

It doesn’t always have to be cash, and you can always donate in kindness. Clothes, toys, feeding bowls, or other pet items are always helpful and acceptable for these organizations.

Volunteering

Organizations working for stray animals’ welfare can always use your help to engineer their work more effectively. You can volunteer in such institutions whenever you have extra time. Spending quality time with these furry babies can be excellent leisure and soul-satisfying.

Vaccinate and sterilize

Vaccination is very important for a dog’s health. Unvaccinated animals can pass on the infection to others. Sterilizing them is also helpful as it would help reduce the number of strays.

The life of a stray animal is one full of a multitude of challenges. From having no proper shelter, vaccination, or malnutrition, their sustenance is that of struggle and hustle.
